The Process: How did I conduct my interview?

When I had finally decided what I wanted my interview to be about and who I wanted to interview, it became clear just exactly how I needed to prepare. I began by reading a couple of online articles that pertained to online business and self-employment. There were also some that talked about how to start up a personal business, and of course I watched a couple Youtube videos on the subject as well. It seemed that there was a correlation of information that helped me to establish some common questions, but also some that I felt had not been asked before.

I think the biggest challenge for me was organizing the order of the questions. At times I would jump around and it disoriented mt train of thought. But luckily the people I was interviewing were easy going and so I was quick to shake off the nerves. I ended up selecting the owners of Honey Lock Co. because I felt that it hit close to home. I’ve looked into doing something similar. So I wanted someone local that was expanding brand outside of the community.

I also found that figuring out the order of the questions was the most difficult part. Its definitely very important to do some research on your interview subject just to have some background knowledge, and I would do exactly that if I interview the same person because I have no idea what it takes to run an online business or how to be self-employed I think this is a cool topic of your interview can be something that everyone can learn from.
