I want to conduct my photo story on the line between athleisure and street wear. One of the most interesting bits about the two looks are how unoriginal they actually are. I want to be able to capture some of the background of where this trend actually began. It is more than just the clothes that you wear, but who you are ripping off. It has also become acceptable to wear leggings as office wear and sweatpants to parties. Who did we take this idea from and did we give them any credit? Many people who walk the streets cannot afford street wear. Funnily enough, it was stolen from the lower income neighborhoods, relabeled, and doubled in price. These two style options are hot on the market right now, but I feel as though we should question why.
Hey Neivy,
I love your idea of capturing background information based on these two fashion trends. Fashion is something that is formed in many different styles. Many people tend to buy high market brands in order to fit in with society. Affordable or not affordable, fashion is a statement that can be made regardless of a clothes brand or price. I look forward to see the kind of images and fashion background you find on athlesure and street wear.
